Neighborhood Watch Program
The neighborhood watch signs are up and the neighborhood watch program is under way. The captains are:
Vic Zammit
Overlook Drive and Turkey
Ridge;
Lou McCoy
Bluegreen Way;
Leonard McIntosh
Crystal Springs;
Frank Stroh
Gunpowder;
Darrell Morken
Sawmill;
Steve Koren
Lower Thief Neck; and,
Chuck Whaley
Upper Thief
Neck.
You should know who the captain is for your area and then do the following:
1. Inform the captain of your area when you are going out of town;
2. Call your captain if you see anything unusual;
3. Make sure that you notice specific information such as: license
plate, color and make of car, specifics about the individual(s), date and time... and write it down; and,
4. Take no action on your own, heroics are not appropriate.
We are all here to help each other. To have a successful
neighborhood watch, we must be observant. As a practice, if I see a strange
car, I just stop them and ask if I can be of assistance. It is a simple way to
know who is in the neighborhood. If I can be of assistance or answer a question,
please give me a call.
